Curriculum Vitae

Born 15 February 1950 in Vonigovo village, Tyachiv region, Zakarpatska obl.  In 1967 graduated from the secondary school of Bushtyno, in 1972 graduated (Summa cum laude) from Faculty of Physics of Uzhhorod State University. Next three years studied at postgraduate study at Department of Theoretical physics of Uzhgorod State University under supervision of Professor Khimich I.V. and Professor Lomsadze Yu.M. He worked on investigation of the analytic properties of scattering amplitudes in axiomatic field theory. For the first time has proved the Jost-Leman-Dyson integral representation for the generalized functions which belongs to the space which is wider than the ordinary Schwartz space S. The obtained integral representation has become effective instrument for investigation of the scattering amplitudes in the framework of the so-called localized quantum field theories. Based on established analytical properties for the first time he derived the analog of the Froissart-Martin bound. He has developed original investigations on derivation of the dispersion relations in the class of non-renormalized quantum field theories with non-polynomial growth of the matrix elements in the momentum space.  On this way he managed to solve the problem of inclusion of weak interactions in axiomatic Bogolyibov-Medvedev-Polyvanov with nonpolynomial growth of the matrix elements. On December 20, 1977, defended the thesis in the Institute of Mathematics  “Analytic properties and axiomatic limits on the scattering amplitude in quantum field theories with nonpolynomial growth of the matrix elements” to obtain the scientific degree the Candidat of Science in physics and mathematics.

After completing the postgraduate study, from September 30, 1975, V.Yu.Lazur started his work as assistant at Department of Theoretical physics at Uzhhorod State University and starting from September 27, 1983 as the senior lecturer of this department. From October 8, 1983 has been invited on the research stay in the Institute of Physics in Belgrade (Yugoslavia) for one year. From June 28, 1986 V.Yu.Lazur received position of the docent at Department of Theoretical physics. The corresponding academic title has been obtained on July 7th, 1988. From the 1st September of 1990, after recommendation of the Ministry of Higher Education of Ukraine has been appointed as a doctorant at Department of Quantum radiophysics of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (the main scientific and education organization of the L.P.Lebedev Physical Institute of the Academy of Science of Soviet Union). On October 22, 1993, V.Yu.Lazur defended the doctoral thesis titled “One- and two-electron processes with rearrangement in the theory of ion-atomic collisions” at specialized scientific board of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. On January 14, 1994, he received the scientific degree of the Doctor of Science in physics and mathematics. On the same day has been appointed on the position of the Professor of the department of Theoretical physics with the approval of the corresponding academic title at 26 October, 1995. On October 24, 1995, has been elected on the position of the chair of the Department of Theoretical physic and on March 17, 2005 at the concurrent base, elected on the position of the Dean of Physics Faculty of Uzhhorod National University. In 2007 V.Yu.Lazur received the title Honorable professor of Uzhhorod National University.

In 1996-1997 Volodymyr Lazur conducted scientific research on the contract (Contr. No 8843/RB)   with the International Agency on Atomic Energy (IAEA) on the project „Investigation of the elementary processes in the plasma of the nuclear origin“. In the year 1997, Prof. Lazur has been appointed as a IAEA Consultant from Ukraine on the problems of controlled thermonuclear synthesis.

Together with scientist of 9 scientific groups from England, Germany, France, Belgium, Russia and Georgia on the concurrent base received the collective INTAS grant (Belgium) on the research project „Fundamental problem of the physics of ion-ion interaction“ (Ref.No 94-4698) and „Femtosecond collisional processes and radiation phenomena in the atomic system interacting with ionic beams and intense laser pulses“  (Ref. No 99-01326).

For the many times gives a lecture and scientific talks at prestigious scientific conferences in universities of Yugoslavia, Slovak Republic, Chech Republic, Germany and Russia.  Prof Lazur is the author of 4 monographs and more than 280 scientific works, published in the leading international and national journals. He was an organizer of three International Conferences on the problems of modern theoretical physics. Under his supervision has been defended 8 theses of the Candidate of Science (Gorvat P.P., Sabov O.V., Reity O.K., Khoma M.V., Rubish V.V., Nagy E.A., Karbovanets O.M., Khmara V.M.), three dissertations are prepared for defense (Gedeon S.I., Reity V.K., Aleksiy V.V.)

V.Yu. Lazur is a member of a specialized scientific board for defence of the dissertation of the Candidate of Science in Uzhhorod National University, member  of the scientific commission of physics of The Ministry of Education Science and Sport of Ukraine, member of editorial board of the scientific journal „Herald of UzNU, series Physics“.

For significant contribution to the development of the science and education of the region Prof. Lazur  has been awarded title of the Honorable person by Uzhhorod city Council and Transcarpathian regional state administration.

In the year 2016, for the outstanding scientific works that received international recognition and for preparation of the highly qualified scientific researchers Volodymyr Lazur has been awarded the title Honorable person in science and technology of Ukraine.
