PUHA Pavlo Pavlovych (born July 5, 1946) is a Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, professor, laureate of V. Ye. Lashkaryov Prize (NASU).

Graduated from the faculty of Physics, UzhDU in 1969 with the specialty of “Physicist. Teacher of physics.” Work experience: PhD student at the Dept. of Physics of Semiconductors, UzhDU (1969–1972); Senior Engineer of UzhDU cryogenic laboratory (1972–1975); Research Associate and then Senior Researcher of the Problem Research Laboratory, UzhDU (1975–1985); Senior Researcher of Uzhhorod department of the Institute for Nuclear Research of Academy of Sciences of Ukrainian SSR (1985–1990); Head of the Department of Optical Materials of Quantum Electronics of Uzhhorod dept. of the INR AS of Ukrainian SSR (1990–1992); Head of the Department of Optical Materials of Quantum Electronics of the Institute of Electron Physics of NASU (1992–2006); Senior Researcher of the Department of Optical Materials of Quantum Electronics of the IEP NASU (2007–2017); Professor of the departments of Optics and Solid State Electronics of the faculty of Physics, UzhNU (2004–2017, on a part-time basis). Since 2017 — Professor of the department of Solid State Electronics and Information Security of the faculty of Physics, UzhNU.

In 1974 by a decree of the specialized council of Ivan Franko Lviv State University, prof. Puha was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Science (PhD) in Physics and Mathematics (thesis: “Optical research of energy structure of glassy semiconductors of АVBVICVII type”). In 1990 by a decree of the specialized council of T. H. Shevchenko Kyiv State University, prof. Puha was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics (thesis: “Temperature-dependent spectral and structural changes and optical properties of АV-BVI-CVII chalcogenide glasses”).

Fields of scientific interests: materials science, physics of semiconductors and dielectrics, optics and spectroscopy.
